Greetings, fellow writers! I trust you are well rested from your summer adventures and settling down to a winter of serious writing escapades.
I'll be honest: this issue will be very brief. In fact, there are only four new articles. "Oh noes!" you may cry. "Whatever shall we do?"
Well, I'm so glad you asked.
Write. Read the Submission Rules and submit your helpful, thought-provoking articles.
Whilst there are, on average, four people we can rely on to submit sound articles in the proper format, etc., it appears that most simply cannot or do not bother to read the submission guidelines. Translated to everyday language, this means that when the guidelines say "Fiction: Please do not submit short stories or other creative works to this category. Examples of articles that would fit this category would include ones on characterization, dialogue and plot building.", that means DO NOT SUBMIT SHORT STORIES OR OTHER CREATIVE WORKS TO THIS CATEGORY. The same rule holds true to Non-Fiction, Improve Your Writing, Poetry & Prose, Film & Music, Getting Published, and Promoting Yourself. There are categories you may submit your works of short fiction and articles - they are Featured Articles, Writers Showcase and Anything Goes. Please be aware also that some articles will likely never be published for a variety of reasons - either too poorly written, too long (again, read the Guidelines) or we're simply swamped with submissions in that category
"So, the editors are getting to be snobby rule-mongers! Well, my stuff's too good for this site, anyhow!" If that is truly the way you feel, I apologize for your misconception. Writespot is a site for writers by writers. If you cannot follow basic submission guidelines here, exceedingly few other publishing venues will likely accept your work no matter how well written it may otherwise appear.
We enjoy reading your works. We love to laugh or cry or have new ideas generated by your words. We do not, however, enjoy the nonchalant disregard and laziness that accompanies haphazard submissions.
Read these four new articles in good health. Next issue, perhaps one of your shiny new works may be presented and highlighted.
