A writer shares her memory of family, fun, and love.
We bundled up for our tobogganing adventure. It had just snowed heavily. Everything was crisp and white.
The lights from the streets caused tiny diamonds to sparkle on the surface. Up and up the spiral walkway and down into the park. We climbed up the hill to the top.
A silence grew all around us. We each took turns sliding down in our chosen spots. I screamed with joy rushing down the hill and into a steel fence. I watched my son flying down in scary positions like a daredevil.
Then we all had a snowball fight. We were all tired and wet, especially me! We pulled our toboggans and headed for home. My son and boyfriend commented at how little it takes to make me happy.
They are right. All it takes is my family, snow, a hill and a toboggan or two.
