If you are a motivated, talented, forward-thinking individual, keep reading.

We are a captivating, expanding company that is seeking extraordinary people who want to grow with us. We are primarily Internet-based, addressing an important void in the Adult Entertainment industry (…and no, we are not at all about porn!). Our company has an exciting vision for growth-- a vision that demands a committed team; a vision that can showcase your talents.

Our firm is currently seeking an experienced Sr. Editor to edit & compile one of our e-books. You will not be editing erotica or anything like that, but if you are close minded, you aren't suited for this company.

To fill this position, we desire a professional who is accustomed to working with small companies like ours that are creative in finding ways to stretch a dollar.

A Qualified Job Candidate is one who:

* has edited several e-books that are non fiction & is so detailed, you find your own mistakes instead of me having to. I personally review all work.

We are NOT looking for a writer, we are looking for an editor who can write a bit just to complete sentences that are in need

Note: We are NOT looking for someone who is a corporate writer. My style is very personable, down to earth & this industry has its own jargon. Complicated large words are generally NOT used, & some editors can't deal with that, so a heads up.
* experience in when to use headings, sub headings etc.
* is able to edit not just for spelling and grammar [see how I like the grammar based on my writing here unless I made a mistake, : ) or am too verbose], but for flow, organization, ease of read etc. (very very important)

If you are just a proof reader, we aren't interested
* you can take my notes & place them in appropriate areas/volumes, or know when to start a new file/section etc.
* if something isn't reading right or it needs more information, you are sharp enough that you can tell me so I can write more
* knows Word Tracking completely & isn't afraid to use it
* you know Canadian spelling as well, as each form (may do that to the larger text files, not sure yet) should have 2 versions, one Canadian & one American. We may have a 3rd for the UK, although their spelling is closest to Canadian of course.
* you aren't a copywriter, but know enough about copywriting that you can add/edit sentences in that sell the next volume.

While your editing and writing skills may get your foot in our door, your Interpersonal Skills are just as important. Our Ideal Team Members are:

• Detail-oriented and confident in making suggestions when they see that something may be improved.
• Organized, and have the ability to set and meet deadlines.
• Patient, team-oriented, and recognizes that a web site is an eternal work in progress.
• Excellent in English communication skills (both written and verbal); able to follow explicit instructions, on the phone and via e-mail.
• Never reluctant to ask questions in an effort to understand the full picture.
• Flexible in redirecting their project plans should a major change arise.
• Ethical, and possessing a strong personal commitment to their word (…and our words are golden).
• Friendly, down to earth, and have a heaping dose of common sense.
• Ambitious, goal oriented, and striving to improve their skills for the betterment of the company.

Do you have what it takes? If so, we’d like to hear from you. Please do the following:

1. Put the keywords “New Sr. Editor” at the top of your e-mail.
2. Detail how many years editing experience you have and summarize the types work you have edited.
3. Forward us your professional references who can verify your editing abilities.
4. Include your best small business bid based on the following...

* The e-book is approximately 350 pages in total. This was our last count.

* There are TOCs for each volume (there are 5 right now, we may add another in after you are done reviewing) & we have a master TOC as well.

* Approximately 50 of those pages are forms which don't take as long to edit, & some were already edited by legal counsel, so they just need a quick review.

* There are an additional 22 pages (approx.) of text/info that needs to find itself a home.

* 75-80% of the manual has already been edited by a Sr. Editor about a year ago & I went through & edited her work as well, so that work will take much less time since she did an okay job & I found her mistakes.

Please note that time is of the essence, as we have to have you & the DTPer working in sync. If you lack some of the important qualifications listed above, or if you do not have the time or dedication to fulfill this part-time job because of another full-time job to which you are already committed, please do not respond to this ad.

Thank you –

Michelle
