I looked across the crowded room

with its robotic moments, humourless laughs,

blank stares....

and marvelled at the place I'd been.

It was a necessary visit;

I'll admit joy at the time.

But company breeds complacency.

To feed the mind with the energies of

the universe is an individual task. It

takes a strong mind to stand

alone.
