It just came to me while driving.

The colors rush in the background, cars race along the roads.
Gasoline stains the atmosphere,
Noise shatters a mode, of silence
As lights flicker on each corner,
Desperately to fight off all traces of shade.

Pedestrians are confusion, their pace an uneasy rhythm.
Hesitant to inhale this moment, take the risk of standing still
And a silhouette enters the vision, a shadow the lamps cannot capture.
Stationary in the cross walk, dismissing the day's stale weather
Merely overcast and grey
But when does it matter?
