One night I had a strange dream

I was at my Mother's wake when

A woman entered the reposing room

I wanted to scream

It was my Mother followed by

Dead Aunt Stella

A third woman without a face

Carried a black umbrella

The trio approached the coffin

Mother was lying in

The woman with no face

Started to play a violin

My brother suddenly grabbed me

And threw me into a wall

I fell to the floor slowly got up

Looked down and realized

I was now wearing a Pall

Mother looked at her corpse

Then approached me and said

I AM NOT DEAD

Then she slapped me

Hard on my face and

Landed one to the back of my head

I quickly awoke and rolled out of bed

Turned on the light

Looked in the mirror with Funeral Fright

Saw a red mark on my face

Knowing this was proof of Mom's

Death Embrace

I hope writing this poem

Will keep me from ever going

Back to this dark place
