Are friendships made on the internet real? What happens when internet friends meet in real life?

And if we meet

Would it be as friends

Or would we be strangers

Held apart by fears

You were a stranger

For whom I opened my soul

Throwing open the doors

And windows that housed me

My dreams were toys

With which we gladly played

Bright bubbles of hope and desire

Joys and laughing delight

My fears and nightmares

You gladly bore

Icy diamonds of despair

The pain lessened by your help

And if we meet

Which shall prove the stronger

My secret shames and shallow fears

Or the gift of love and friendship
