What colour are Mother’s eyes?
They are the colour
of her children’s
sighs,
her husband’s glare
the neighbour’s
stare.
They are the colour of
unshed tears.... tomorrow’s
fears.
What if nobody cares?
Mother...
with colour eyes of
secrets told, of lonely nights
....cold.
Colour eyes
of floor scrubbed knees,
so easy to please….
too quick to
forgive, too simple
to live.
But still you
give….
Mother.
