How do I submit content?

You must be a registered member to submit content. Once you're a member, you can log in to submit content directly from the site. Follow the steps below to submit content with ease:

1. Log into your account.

2. In the User Menu (left side), click Submit Content.

3. Enter a title for your submission.

4. Choose a category. Current categories include Feature Articles, Fiction, Non-fiction, Poetry & Prose, Film & Screen, Getting Published, Improve Your Writing, Promoting Yourself, Anything Goes, and Writers Showcase. All poems, short stories, prose, and memoirs MUST be submitted to Writers Showcase. All articles unrelated to writing or all others that don't fit into any other category must go into Anything Goes. If you don't know what category to choose, you may select any category - an editor will place it in the right area.

5. In the first text box (Intro Text), type in a short description of your piece. (If submitting poetry, type your poem in this box.)

6. In the second text box (Main Text), type or copy & paste your article.

7. Hit the Save button (large disc icon) to send your submission to the editors.

Once you save your item, an editor will review, proofread, and edit your piece. Note: All pieces will be edited for phrasing, grammar, and spelling. Descriptions may also be altered. Not all pieces may be published on WriteSpot.org for various reasons.

How do I submit a web link to the WriteSpot.org directory?

You must be a registered user to submit a link. First, log in to your account. In the User Menu, click Submit Web Link. Type in the name of the website. Choose a category. Enter the URL, then enter a short description. When you're finished, hit Save (large disc icon) and an editor will post the link in the directory.

What will be included in my article if my piece is published?

Other than the description and the article itself, your name (not user name) will appear at the top of your article. Your name will be linked to your user profile so that visitors and members can click on your name to get to your profile. Make sure you update your profile!

I want my full name or my pen name to appear on the article.

No problem. You control the name shown in your article. No matter what, your name will still serve as a link to your profile. To change the name that appears on your article, you must first log in. In the User Menu, select My Details. Type in your name as you want it to appear in your articles. Remember: Your NAME (not Username) will appear on your articles. Hit Save when you're finished (large disc icon), or hit Cancel (large X icon). Changing your username will have no affect on what name is displayed in your submitted pieces.
