In one brief flicker
    two souls met.

In joyous unity, their song
    transcended the heavens
    and mingled with the cosmos.

Then the Now intruded
    bringing the ugliness of reality
    sullying purity with a single thought.

The song fell away

Harmony faltered

And the angels wept
