Cold Winter's End Print E-mail

The storm came and winds blew.
The little old woman’s fear grew.
She was on her way to see her family.
With boxes of gifts and lots of candy.
All she had was a rusted old wagon with a tattered red mat.
With tall boots and a knitted hat she pulled behind her two chilly cats.
The wind blew strong and the temperature fell.
She was minutes away from a cold winter hell.
She fell to the ground, embedded in snow.
The wagon and gifts had no where to go.
The cats huddled together in the box with the bow.
They could not imagine, they did not know.
The storm had lifted the lid from the box.
They looked out to the barren white plain.
There was no old woman.
She was freed from pain.
