We are a ghost writer book service which does most or all of your work and your writing for you. If you want to write a book manuscript or a script for television or a movie, you may hire a ghost writer through us, and we will help you create it. We only need your good original ideas and guidance regarding your project, and in the case of a book manuscript we will also assist you in getting it published, if you ask us to do so.
We do this for a fee and we don't have to take any of the credit or copyrights for your own original ideas. They can all be assigned to you, along with the original ideas and writings of your ghost writer. That's why we're your friendly neighborhood "ghosts." We charge upfront and/or "on spec" to write or rewrite your work, and we don't have to take any of the credit away from you - not even for your writer's own original work.
It's as if you hired a mechanic for your car instead of doing the work. It's still your car and is solely your personal property, and we are only performing a service for you. This stands unless you tell us otherwise, as in the case of sharing coauthor status. We usually can't share "status" in lieu of pay, however, except in the case of a broadly selling property, where we then also ask for a percentage of the work's profits.
As ghost writers, we are performing a "work for hire" job under federal copyrights statutes, and we help people who either don't have time to write or who don't have proper writing or editing skills to prepare their work for today's markets. And we often help people write the memoirs of their lifetimes, which can be enlightening, memorable and interesting. We are honored to help "newbies" or first time writers, and are glad to help you with your personal book projects, be they great or small ones.
Our typical rates for ghost writing your fiction or non-fiction book for you range from $5-15 US per page for less than 200 pages, or $5,000-10,000 US - most often, only $5,000 - to be the ghost writer for a 200-400 page book manuscript. In certain cases, we also charge only $2000 total upfront, with a 10% charge on top of that from your book's gross profits, paid out by you to us or by your publisher to us, over time.
Also, we will consider a charge of $2000-3000 to write each one of a series of books by you, if you have more than one book in the works. We will sign a contract with you stipulating all the methods of time payments, scheduling, maintaining our relationship, and other such necessary factors. You may read over our contract in advance, and have a legal expert read it over for you, too.
We typically charge much less than other agencies to be ghost writers for book manuscripts, either fiction or non-fiction, as long as you're willing to make all payments upfront as we are doing the job.
Some of our ghosts charge more, and some charge less. We take installment payments over time, and the format can be as long as you need. If you can only make several $500 payments over a year's time, we can arrange that. Each payment will still need to be made in advance of a portion of the work being prepared. Also, sometimes your work turns out to need copy editing, not ghost writing, for which we charge much less. If you have already written it, please see the section directly below this one. We also perform thorough proof reading on every job.
And please remember: under U.S. Copyrights Office laws, you retain all rights to all original material in your work and the work we perform for you as contracted, no matter how much writing, editing, research, rewriting or other work your writer does. This is unless you arrange to share credit or author status with us, which is never required - and which will always be agreed upon in advance between you and us.
We will also sign a non-disclosure contract with you, in cases where you or we feel it's necessary, and it will contain agreed-upon clauses about our responsibilities, your copyrights and ours, time frames and payment formats, and other such legal written language that ensures the sanctity of your work. It's best in most cases to sign such a contract, especially in the case of "on spec" work, but we can discuss this with you later in greater detail, for example if you prefer to work without any formal contracts. We prefer having a legally signed document in most cases.
We will also make arrangements, for a small fee, to help you get your work published, sold or otherwise into a public venue. We make no guarantee that your work will be published or sold, but we guarantee that you get to keep your work and own full or partial rights to it as agreed between us. You don't "sign away" your rights with us; we work everything out in advance, with your permission. And it's usually the author's own idea whether or not to share the credit. It's up to you and your ghost writer to decide how you want to handle that issue.
Also, under some circumstances we can arrange for low or no fees for sharing your/our ideas, authorship and copyrights - as "on spec" material. We can share rights ownership with you, percentages of book or other property sales and coauthor/screen status to lower your initial costs for assembling your manuscript, movie script or other work. You should understand that we only do "on spec" work in the case of a project that we feel will sell widely and well to a very large audience.
Regarding books, we can take an advance from a book agent or publisher as our fee in certain cases, but this has to be done carefully, in order to avoid unscrupulous behavior on the part of certain people. We do NOT take work that is "farmed out" by such agencies on a regular basis to ghost writers, as this is not good business practice; we don't encourage it. And we also don't completely guarantee that you will be published, being honest professionals, although we'll work very hard on helping you in this pursuit. If you keep at it, you will certainly be published, over time - if it takes weeks, months, or years.
We also have a "partial plan" where you pay a smaller fee in advance, plus a smaller percentage of the book's profits. Just write and ask us about it. We generally only do this if a book or other work is probably going to sell appreciably, or you have a publisher or other venue already lined up for it.

These are copy editor services where we do all of your editing for you. If you need to edit a book manuscript or a script for television or a movie, you can hire a copy editor through us; we will help you edit and possibly rewrite it. We do this for a fee and we don't have to take any of the credit or copyrights for your idea. They can be assigned completely to you. That's why we're your friendly neighborhood "editors."
We scan and make corrections to grammatical and syntax errors, sometimes revising some of what you wrote to suit your potential readership and to increase your chances for commercial publication. We do this by making your work read and flow more smoothly and efficiently, and sometimes by "jazzing it up" and making it more spicy, profound or thought-provoking. We can also perform a thorough analysis of your work, pointing out errors and making suggestions.
Our rates depend on how much actual writing or rewriting we have to perform on your work, and the nature and scope of the work involved. But we typically charge $5 US per page for less than 200 pages, or $2,000-3,000 for general light to heavy copy editing, thorough proof reading and sequential fact checking of a 200-400 page book manuscript. If the work require substantial rewriting, or is harder or more academic or topic specific, we may charge more; also, different writers on our team may charge different amounts.
We do our best to help you create the greatest possible literature or public enlightenment out of your work, vastly improving its potential for sales by making it both marketable and saleable. Or we can do something as simple as merely proof reading your work for errors and carefully adjusting them. Just write to us and ask us about this.

We can write, rewrite and edit documents and create, edit or update copy on websites. You can hire a proof reader, a rewriter, a book author, a freelance writer, a copy writer or almost any kind of writer or accompanying graphics artist through us. We can proof your writing and give you spotless copy. We can perform a major rewrite or simply correct mistakes and other typical errors of reasoning. We have a pool of talented professionals with several years of experience and great command of the English language.
Our rates for proof reader services vary from $2-5 US per manuscript page for less than 200 pages, or $1,000-2,000 US for a 200-400 page manuscript, depending on the nature of the work involved.
Freelance writing services can run $5-25 US per page for less than 200 pages and about the same amount for more pages, but we charge a discount for a greater amount of pages and for less work actually involved in the project. Ask us about our pricing - just use our email.
Rewriting and copy writing services rates depend on the type of work involved and how much time and effort it will take. Sometimes writing is a blend of several of the styles mentioned above. We can simply charge you to work within your budgetary needs, in most cases, as long as we are making a "living wage" as writers. We can also charge per word count - or even amount of time taken to complete the job.
Our email links can be found both above and below. We will do our best to answer all your questions and concerns, and will take the time to work closely with you by exchanging emails and phone calls, reading over written or taped materials, and/or doing one to several personal interviews.
You may pay us in installments over a graduated period of time. We usually require payment In Advance of each Installment. We can also take Pay by the Hour if needed for some projects.
You may sign a contract with us as needed, or pay in advance for a smaller, less formal job. But we usually prefer working with a formal contract.
NOTE: We have currently filled our quota of book clients we can help with publishing assistance. Please check back with us in early 2009 for any further such assistance.
WE CAN HELP YOU FIND AN AGENT AND GET PUBLISHED!
We're published book authors, and help you to get your book or books published. We make a serious commitment and will do our utmost to get you published - no guarantees - but we have a good track record with book agents and book publishers.
We work closely with literary agents and publishing companies. We don't maintain close relationships with them, but can find you reputable ones. It may take a long time to get published, but we'll facilitate the process in order to help you.

Reggie is our Chief Financial Officer. He's a technical genius, like Albert Einstein. He's not a ghost writer or a copy editor; he figures out how to run our expenses and income. I and our writing staff offer cheap, good book ghost writer and great, expert copy editor services, as well as free proof reader services of every job.
We also hire experienced copy writers, freelance writers, website writers, ghost writers, copy editors, proof readers and capable graphics technicians on a regular basis. Please write us with your credentials, such as writing samples and CV or resume, attached to an email.
According to Mensa, the intellectual group, & everywhere else reputable that I've checked, I repeatedly score in the 90-95th percentile for intellect. The American College Aptitude Test ranked me in the 99th percentile for my English language skills. Because of similar Latin roots in English, I understand some French, Spanish and Italian, though I don't speak any of those languages fluently.
I could probably get by in Latin, but like William Shakespeare, it's all "pretty much Greek to me."

Ghost Writers: Cheap or Inexpensive Book Writers Offer Professional Freelance and Ghost Writers Services
You might think that selling yourself short is a sure way to not be a success in the ghost writing field. And your eyes are probably dancing with the large sums of money that you’ve heard ghost writers pull down, in yearly figures such as $60,000 to $100,000, or amounts such as $15,000 to $60,000 per each book written. You’re a writer, you love to write, and you believe that this is the way to go when it comes to writing.
This is especially so when you’ve started to break into the field and you’re a ghost writer - or ghostwriter - who has never really ghosted or written a book for someone else before. You’re probably thinking big bucks, major book contracts, large amounts of cash advances from publishers and huge percentages from the books you will be anonymously writing for big time authors.
But let’s face some facts. First time authors are often people with no real money or skills to invest in writing a book. They may have fantastic stories to tell, but they don’t have the enormous amount of financial capital available to hire any such expensive ghost writers. They’re bound to enter some psychological difficulties when they see that the payments to you are the whopper figures such as those listed above, and that those are the only sorts of prices accessible to them. By laying out such enormous fees, you could be stuck losing a huge customer base of clients with fantastic stories to tell -- but without the major wherewithal to pay you to tell them. What if, say, your potential author, the person hiring you to write his or her story, has only $5000 or less to spend?
I know what I’m talking about, and I can create a decent, well-written work of cheap ghost writing in a month or so for around that amount of money. You do that, and there’s your $60,000 per year! It really isn’t all that hard. You don't even have to charge as high as $5000, although it's inadvisable to charge less unless you are also getting a percentage of book sales, or you are mostly copy editing or copyediting the book.
Most other ghost writers I know are only as capable I am, but many of them do charge the higher amounts. The clients of the high end ghost writers tend to be people with enormous sales potential, not the typical first time authors who have a great story but often don’t really go anywhere with it - the so called “sucker market.”
It might be worthwhile to consider charging less, or negotiating a deal with such a “first timer.” Over the years, I have drawn the conclusion that there are an awful lot of such people out there. I have been ghost writing books for people for as low an amount as $2000 per book, when I was also getting a percentage of book sales, and as I have sources of income from other types of writing, I have been finding an immense amount of personal satisfaction from helping such would be authors actually obtain what they are looking for in a "cheap ghost writer" who charges a reasonable price for the quality and quantity of work done for them.
I simply ask for installment payments, usually made in advance, and sometimes I also ask for a percentage of book sales. In the case of a book that I don't think is headed for very broad sales, or that simply doesn't have a substantial market for sales, I generally don't ask for a percentage - and I charge the full amount of $5000 in advance. This, however, can be negotiated on the basis of whether I'm really ghost writing the book, or simply rewriting and/or copy editing it.
This works out to be less “greedy” on my part and more of a service that I provide for authors who are simply yearning to get their books up high on the top of the New York Times Bestseller lists, and who know that such are their dreams, not necessarily their realities. These are often people who have reached the ends of their ropes when it comes to negotiating a lower price for their books. They usually have nowhere else to turn when it comes to putting out their own personal stories, and they need someone with a willing ear and pen to listen and help them set down their tales before it’s too late for them to be told. And there is still hope for these people to even hit the big time, if they have the right types of stories to tell.
Also, some of these authors simply don’t know what they’re doing and need a guiding hand to help them. They need their letters of query written up for them, their brief biographies put together, and their book proposals prepared for them, as they are dipping their toes into the writing field and getting them wet for the first time. A lot of them think they are going to get their book written and then get some kind of major advance, straight from a publisher.
It just isn't like that 90% of the time. An advance comes after a deal has been negotiated with a reputable literary agent, bids by publishers for the book have been scrutinized, and contracts have been signed. It helps in a major way to have the book in hand, sometimes even having it self published first, to get anywhere near a commercial publisher. This can be a very expensive process for a first time, would be author.
People like that don’t need to face down what looks like to them to be a million dollar price tag when they are looking for what’s described as a cheap ghost writer. They want an actual inexpensive ghost writer who understands their needs, both budgetary and otherwise, who can sit down with them and negotiate a fairly low amount of money paid out by them so they can figure on at least getting some return from their books. These people are not Presidents of the United States or famous movie actors, whose books are guaranteed to sell, and many of them find themselves “stuck” with what used to be called vanity publishing, nowadays called self publishing. They won’t necessarily find a commercial publisher who wants to take a chance on huge returns from their books in today’s multifaceted but still challenging world of publishing.
These clients need literally cheap or inexpensive ghost writers. They don’t need to spend a small fortune on their books to find out they all dead ended in a warehouse, didn’t sell as widely as they thought they would, or they otherwise came out on the short end of the stick. They need to carefully invest their time and effort on a decent, expert ghost writer. And they could use some material publishing help to get their books "out there" -- properly displayed and promoted in today's modern Internet oriented book market.
Help them. Consider bargaining and bartering at a lower price sometimes, and not at a higher price. It might be worth your while. Try it and see!

Ghost Writers: All About Freelance Ghostwriting Jobs
The term "ghostwriting" refers to writing for someone that you don't receive credit for. Famous people, for example, seldom write their own autobiographies. Instead, they hire a ghostwriter to tell their story for them. Why would a freelance ghostwriter agree to forfeit credit for his or her work? Simple: money. Clients usually pay ghostwriters far more than a "normal" writer's fee of $20-$50 an hour. Small books (150 pages or less) usually cost a client at least $25,000. Fees go up from there depending on the length and type of book, as well as the amount of research required by the ghostwriter.
The fees are high because you can't slap your byline on the work and you forfeit all rights to royalties that your book generates. The exceptions are if the client agrees to put your name in print on the cover, name you as a co-author, or offer you part of the royalties. In those cases, you would often give a hefty discount depending on the return you expected.
What types of books can I ghostwrite?
Many industries seek the skills of freelance ghostwriters. Fiction and children's writing are common - people often have (or think they have) an amazing storyline, but lack the writing ability to sell it.
Freelance ghostwriters often pen non-fiction books, such as autobiographies and instructional, business, and self-help books. Sometimes these ghostwriters are experts in the subject matter, sometimes they are not. You may have to do a lot of research, or none at all.
You can also ghostwrite for smaller projects, like articles and web content. These don't usually pay more than normal writing but they're good resume builders.
Where can I find freelance ghostwriting gigs?
Set up a website to promote your freelance ghostwriting services. Because ghostwriting is expensive, it's important to buyers that you are truly a ghostwriting professional. Presenting yourself with a polished website is a great way to emphasize your credibility.
It is more than possible to find ghostwriting jobs on freelancing websites, but buyers there are usually less knowledgeable and therefore less willing to pay good money. It is common to see ads for a 250-page book that needs writing with a budget of $500 or less. It doesn't hurt to keep your eye out for a gem though - it does happen occasionally.
What skills do I need to be a freelance ghostwriter?
If you have experience, you're off to a great start. If you lack experience, thumb through your own files to see if you can use some of that as writing examples, or write some from scratch. You don't have to ghostwrite it to prove your writing skills. If you have a particular client in mind, do your best to match your writing style and samples to the type of writing you think your client is looking for.
Remember that any samples you send can't be ghostwritten work. Unless otherwise specified in the agreement, you can't ever disclose that you're the author behind ghostwritten work. In these cases, feel free to describe the book you ghostwrote and how well it's doing.
How should I respond to a ghostwriting ad?
If you find a promising ad (or if someone contacts you), respond professionally using perfect grammar and polite language. For practice, try responding to this sample ad:
I'm looking for someone to write a book about choosing the right family pet. I have an outline and some research but a little more will be required. The book should only be about 100 pages. I will own all rights afterwards. Serious writers only.
What should you say to this person? Well, it's good to start off expressing an interest in their subject matter. Ghostwriting projects are usually dear to buyers' hearts, so if you start by saying you're passionate about pets, you'll catch his eye right away.
Next, you'll want to assure him that you can handle the task. If you don't have enough experience to convince him, suggest having him send one chapter outline and writing a sample for him for free. Yes, it's a bit of unpaid work for you, but it will mean thousands of dollars if you get the job.
Finally, quote a fee. The book is short and research appears to be minimal. If you're experienced, quote $25,000. If you're not, quote around $15,000. It's far less than an experienced ghostwriter would make, but you have to start somewhere. Good luck!
