Re:Has Anyone tried Guru.com? - 10/27/2006 USAvoice is scam..plz don't work for them..i came across their ad in hot jobs and thought they were a good opportunity..but sadly they are just looking to make money through the click ads..they don't pay the reporters or the editors..

Re:Has Anyone tried Guru.com? - 10/16/2006 I've done a little research on usavoice.org and read others' research on them. *Stay away from them*. There are too many small red flags (or at least there were a couple months ago).

Re:Has Anyone tried Guru.com? - 10/16/2006 found another decent opportunity..www.usavoice.org is looking for reporters, no experience needed

Re:Has Anyone tried Guru.com? - 08/01/2006 I did a little research on Guru... you pay monthly, quarterly, or yearly (expensive!) to have access to their listings and bidding rights. When you are awarded a bid, you pay either a 5 or 10% fee for the transaction.

Seems a little much, though. I mean, just the membership itself is very expensive. I kind of think they're double dipping... and we all know how gross that is.

I agree. But that's why they hustle jobs, and hopefully more lucrative contracts for you. Unless you make money, they don't make money.

Well, it doesn't help that I'm one of the cheapest women ever. Or I guess I should say frugal, as "cheap" conjures up other images I'm not trying to portray! It just seems to me that a writer shouldn't have to pay to find jobs.

While that may be true, isn't that exactly what is one of the primary functions of an agent.

Re:Has Anyone tried Guru.com? - 07/19/2006 I suppose you're correct... paying for money sounds a little strange, even to me!

It's a good thing you changed your word to "frugal"! LoL
