Re:The Bard's Coffee Shop 2007 1st edition - 05/04/2007 The Scots have always had great music and such. We just tend not to ballyhoo about it as much like the rest of y'all.

May I please have a double chocolanated caffeine?

Re:The Bard's Coffee Shop 2007 1st edition - 05/02/2007 Definitely sparked my interest as well!

I downloaded Eye to the Telescope and immediately recognized another song from it (Suddenly I See)... dunno where I've been hearing it so much but it was really familiar.

What is it about all these Scottish folk coming out with great music lately? Canadians, too, for that matter.

Hum... that just reminded me of Mike Meyers and "if it's not Scottish, it's crrrap." Anyone remember that one?

Re:The Bard's Coffee Shop 2007 1st edition - 04/30/2007 She did it all with the tamborine, vocals and her guitar. One of the foot pedals loops stuff that you put in it, like midi. She evidently has several channels to work with, and you can watch her add all of it as the video progresses. I am in awe....She had an album out when that performance aired on UK television, but it wasn't doing well. That performance sparked a lot of interest, for obvious reasons, prompting her label to re-release it. It's called "Eye to the Telescope" and includes the piece in the video.

Re:The Bard's Coffee Shop 2007 1st edition - 04/29/2007 Well that's something.

Cool boots, too.

Maybe you can tell me: what exactly was she adding with the foot pedals? Backup vocals, and.... ?? (yes I saw the tambourine but I'm assuming there was more to it) Otherwise it sounded like her voice plus acoustic guitar.

You can thank Frank Zappa for that line.

ah... Frank Zappa... I can see it now. Wasn't he also responsible for the giraffe filled with whipped cream?

I wondered about that as well. Cryptic. Yet amusing. Or just weird, in a savory sort of way. It's such a fine line.

Hmmm. Got any biscuits around here, by the way, Mr. Coffee Bard?

Re:The Bard's Coffee Shop 2007 1st edition - 04/12/2007 ...rummaging around the corner....

Nope, don't see any biscuits, actually. But you do have quite a sizable collection of green hockey pucks over here. Ah, so who plays?

And wow, look what else I found! ...this round thing with a hole in the middle, obviously some ancient form of currency from an obscure south Pacific island! The untrained eye might be tempted to call it a petrified doughnut but ha! I for one can recognize a valuable archaeological find when I spot one.
