Format and Style
Like most websites, WriteSpot.org follows a set style and format. To help our editors prepare your work for publication, please follow our format and style rules.
1. No indents. Use a line break (blank space) between each paragraph. To see how paragraphs should be formatted, view a published article on this site.
2. Your piece should have organized paragraphs. Having one, extremely long paragraph is confusing, messy, and unappealing to readers.
3. Please don't use all caps. It is difficult to read and edit. Work submitted in all capital letters will be returned to you for editing. The same rule applies for items that are in all bold or all lowercase letters, or larger than size 12 font.
4. Use a standard font such as Times New Roman, Helvetica, Verdana, and Arial. Your fonts should be no larger than size 12 and no smaller than size 8.
Bylines and Short Bios
Each item you submit will be credited to you and will link to your user profile. The name which appears on your article is determined by the NAME (not username) you've indicated in My Details. To change how your name appears in your submissions, log into your account and click "My Details" in the User Menu. Type in the desired name in the Name field.
We encourage you to set up your bio and writer's profile in your user profile. This will allow readers to get to know you better. To include a byline within your article, please place your byline below your article before submitting your item.
